The Hixon Forest Nature Center (part of the Myrick Hixon Eco Park) is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing public awareness, understanding, enjoyment, and protection of local natural areas. These natural areas include forest, marsh, rare native prairies, bluffs, and rivers - all habitats of incredible numbers of wildlife.The Nature Center offers many things to visitors. It has a large variety of interesting educational displays. It has maps and information about all parts of Hixon Forest and the La Crosse River Marsh. Entertaining and educational programs, including Summer Camps, are offered during different parts of the year. There is bird seed, t-shirts, bird feeders, and other merchandise for sale.
