When: Tuesday - July 1st, 2008, (meet at 5:15pm, Starts promptly at 5:45)
What: We will have a General Meeting to discuss what we did at the IMBA World Summit in Park City, and how what we learned will change HPT.  This will be followed by a question/answer session.  After the General Meeting we will hold the scheduled Board Meeting; anyone who is interested is invited to stay.
Where: We will meet at Ovation Marketing on the 5th floor of the USBank building, at 201 Main Street in La Crosse.
Who: Members of HPT as well as all trail-users, citizens of the greater La Crosse area, and friends of HPT are all welcome to attend.

Here's the tentative agenda:
General Meeting
  • (Meet at 5:15, Starts promptly at 5:45)
    • Volunteer Shirt Samples/Sizing
    • IMBA World Summit Update/Questions
Board Meeting
  • (Starts at 7:00)
    • Signatures for Bylaws
    • HPT Brochures
    • Plate Compactor for Ditch Witch
    • PC/Projector for presentations
    • Kiosk at HPT Trailhead
    • HPT Kiosks at Local Shops
    • Assignments for 12 Hour Race

    • Trail Plan for City (IMBA)
    • HPT Wish List
    • Pump track/Dirt Park at HPT
    • Schedule HPT Events
    • Schedule weekend trailwork days
    • Additional Trailwork Day
    • Alternatives to Time Trials (Ride Gala)

And the most important part... Beverages of all kinds, as well as snacks will be provided!

Potable water at the trail head would be great. The weather station has to have a well or city water....
Need to consider some Saturday workdays. Takes a few hours to get into the swing of making new trail and the short weekday work sessions are less productive than an all day session.

I like the idea of a pump/dirt track BMX style! That would bring an other perspective to peoples riding ablity and offer some fun to those who are not into the XC thing.

I agree on the Saturday workdays. For some of us with little kids its hard to volunteer right after getting off of work. A Saturday morning would be easier to get away.

One other idea - some introductory info that can be handed out with mtn bike sales at the local shops. List where to ride, when the newbie rides are, etc.

All of these ideas have already had some thought put into them (that's why they're on the agenda). If you are interested, have any thoughts on how to implement them, or can be involved with making it happen, please come to the Board Meeting on Tuesday.

Right now there are a few people doing too much work. So if you want these things to happen, we need more people to get involved to make these ideas a reality.
