Member/Board Meeting Minutes

Board members present: Gene Roberts, Marvin Wanders, Dan Luebke, Dave Lawrence, Eve Zellmer, Mark Schuttenhelm, Aaron Schmidt, Mike Charron, Roger Lundsten, Ben Spanel
Guests attending: Membership meeting

A. Introduction
Charron welcomed everyone in attendance and discussed the mission of HPT.

B. Year in Preview – 2011
Charron discussed upcoming events for 2011:
1. HPT Kickoff Party – Friday April 15 – Pearl Street Brewery
2. Chainsaw Training – Saturday April 30
3. Monday trail building – Starts Monday May 2
4. Weekly group rides
5. Road Trip – Saturday May 14 – Levis Trow Mounds
6. Trail Master Certification Training – June 14-17

Roberts discussed happenings with the DNR, WI Bike Federation, and IMBA.

Wanders discussed happenings within Human Powered Trails:
1. Strong focus on the Vista Trail
2. Helping with Hixon Forest
3. Looking toward hiring an Executive Director
4. Developing a corporate sponsorship program
5. Continuing to work with the local and state governments

C. Volunteer of the Year
Charron presented the Volunteer of the Year award to Ben Spanel.

D. Election
Charron explained the election procedure and informed the HPT membership of the existing board members and officers.

Charron presented the following candidates to the membership for election: Mike Charron, Gene Roberts, Mark    Schuttenhelm, Carey Falkenberry, and Matt Brantner.  The candidates were elected unanimously by a voice vote from the HPT membership in attendance.

E. HPT Video
Zellmer presented a HPT promotional video.

F. Adjourn
The membership meeting adjourned at 7:00 pm.
