Hello to all,

altThe weather, although somewhat cool, has cooperated and trail work is in full season. Great night last Monday with many new faces. Despite the DNR obstacle we still have plenty to keep us busy.

I am still waiting for final confirmation regarding CPR and first-aid training scheduling. I am hopeful that we will be able to meet for that training on Saturday, May 30th with a time and location to follow. I have been able to work not only with Gundersen Lutheran but Tri-state ambulance service and their paramedics.

What I need from you is a definite yes or no as to whether you need this training. I know some of you have credentials that would allow you to forgo the basics and there are others that may only need to re-certify. A more accurate head count will be most helpful.

As stated earlier Pete Taylor of Bluedog Cycles has agreed to teach patrollers basic field repairs for bicycles. I for one have limited knowledge in this area and look forward to attending. After talking to Pete we're considering Sunday May 31st. But again we need to know numbers so we know how much space we need to secure for us to be comfortable.

I would like to squeeze in an organizational meeting on the 31st as well since we'd all be together in one place. This will include Patrollers and Ambassadors. Obviously as the weather improves none of us want to be inside but if we get past the initial pain we can spend the rest of the summer on the trails.

So looks like the last weekend in May could be a COREfest. Like most fest around here I'm sure there will be some food items and beverages.

Leave a comment here if you are interested in CPR/FA training, and/or bike repair.
