Attention all Wood Cutters!!! Human Powered Trails Inc. will be holding ANOTHER! Chainsaw Safety Class on Wednesday - Sept 2nd, 2009.
*This training will be led by Jim Olive from the Forest Industry Safety & Training Alliance Inc. (F.I.S.T.A.)
When: This is a one day training held Wednesday from 10:00 am - 4:00
pm. We will spend the morning in the classroom both Learning About and
working with Chainsaws. In the afternoon, we will take our new
knowledge into the field where we will fell trees and reinforce proper
cutting techniques.
Cost: HPT will cover the cost of the training for HPT members and volunteers.
Equipment Needed: You will not need to supply any power equipment for the class. However,
you may bring your own equipment (including a properly operating
chainsaw, chaps, helmet, ear protection, eye protection). HPT
equipment will be available to be shared (Chainsaws, Helmets, Eye/Ear
protection).
Be sure to wear long pants, long sleeve shirt, boots, gloves, glasses etc.).
Why?: This is an excellent one day training session. You WILL come away with
a better understanding of how to properly and safely operate a chainsaw.
*Please note that HPT requires all volunteers to have completed this training before operating a chainsaw at HPT functions.
